We plan to offer a variety of activities and events, both online and in-person, including:

• Social events: We have multiple socials each term so that you can get to know your fellow members! We will have a mixture of drinks mixers in the SU bar and dry events such as networking and games nights.
• Careers talks: We host careers events to help students understand the different roles within tech, what it’s like to do those jobs, and what skills you’ll need to get your foot in the door and progress your career.
• Skills and coding workshops: We run workshops to help students further their skills and confidence in technical topics ranging from database development and data analysis to machine learning and artificial intelligence. We also run workshops that are purely for fun, such as building Pong or chess games in Python.
• Peer learning groups: We will facilitate peer learning groups where students can work together on projects and develop skills in areas of shared interest.
• Field trips: We’ll organise trips to museums and exhibitions, such as the National Museum of Computing and Bletchley Park.
• Mini hackathons: We also aim to host our first-ever hackathon this year! Further information will be available soon.
